Our design focussed on a clear access path to both properties while enhancing the rest of the garden to create interest and privacy. A Eunomus hedge was used as a box replacement to give the entrance path a grand feel while the planting behind this was informal and airy. A layered meadow style was used to create multiple layers of interest through the year.
A central reclaimed planter features a multistem laburnum tree and lush evergreen grasses, creating a striking focal point in the garden.
Biodiversity habitat featured strongly in this garden with oak bee posts making up the structure within the planting, these were drilled with multiple holes creating nesting opportunities for cavity nesting bees. The meadow style planting offered vegetation complexity and diversity offering shelter and a food source
Having lovingly renovated this period house our clients contacted us to help re-imagine the front garden. Situated in the middle of the market town of Eye the front garden would be enjoyed year-round as both our clients and their neighbour (who had access across the garden) left and arrived at the house.
